Com'è messo il passo Gavia, un mese dopo

Risale a un mese fa la decisione di annullare il passaggio del Giro d'Italia sul passo Gavia a causa della troppa neve. Ricordate? I muri bianchi ai lati della strada, oltre che lo spesso manto sulla strada, avevano fatto propendere gli organizzatori per un percorso alternativo. 

Ora la situazione è notevolmente migliorata, com'era ovvio aspettarsi. Le temperature si sono alzate, favorendo lo scioglimento della neve, come sanno i ciclisti che nelle scorse settimane si sono cimentati nella salita.

The highlight of day two in Bormio was definitely riding through the lake at the top of the Gavia, with huge snow walls on either side. It's not every day you ride through zero degree water, and even if it was right on the lower limit of what's bearable for two minutes, it was kind of fun, and felt like a real adventure. . It's worth getting out there and getting uncomfortable as much as you can, if you ask me. It makes you feel alive, gets the blood pumping, and you get to do things not many other people do. I'd take that over the couch any day. . Hot tip if you're doing the Gavia in the next week or two though - ditch the shoes and socks before you go through the water. Dry socks and shoes on the other side would have been nice, but once we started with the shoes on there was no going back. . #iampedla #thepedla #gavia #bormio

La neve resta ancora abbondante in quota, lo dimostrano le foto scattate ieri dal nostro lettore Isacco Zanola. Il passaggio però è del tutto agevole. Unico inconveniente, la strada verso Bormio chiusa all'altezza di Santa Caterina, che ha costretto il gruppetto di ciclisti a un imprevisto dietro front.
