Doctors at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis confirmed Sham’s condition is critical and that she urgently needs to leave the Strip to receive treatment abroad. According to the World Health Organization, the malnutrition crisis in Gaza remains dire with a rising number of acutely malnourished children reported since March 2025 coinciding with the onset of the more than 80-day aid blockade.
