Terremoto in Kamchatka, allerta tsunami nell'oceano Pacifico

ROMA, 30 LUG - Un violento terremoto nella regione russa della Kamchatka - magnitudo 8.7 - ha fatto scattare l'allarme tsunami nell'oceano Pacifico, dal Giappone all'America. L'epicentro del sisma è stato localizzato a circa 136 chilometri a est di Petropavlovsk, a una profondità di 19 chilometri, secondo l'Usgs. Le prime onde dello tsunami si sono abbattute sulla zona costiera di Severo-Kurilsk, cittadina dell'estremo oriente russo: il porto e la cittadina sono state inondate, gli abitanti sono al sicuro sulle alture. L'allerta tsunami ha riguardato Russia, Giappone, Guam, Hawaii e Alaska. Gli operai impegnati nei lavori di smantellamento della centrale nucleare di Fukushima Daiichi, nella regione nord ovest del Tohoku, in Giappone, sono stai evacuati. Lo ha comunicato il gestore dell'impianto, la Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco), che al momento comunque non segnala alcuna anomalia sul sito, teatro dell'incidente nucleare nel marzo del 2011. Il terremoto - secondo le autorità russe - ha provato numerosi feriti.
