NAIROBI, 12 AGO - Gli Stati Uniti hanno ribadito la posizione del Kenya come partner principale in Africa, descrivendo Nairobi come fondamentale per la politica africana di Washington. La dichiarazione da parte dell'incaricata d'affari dell'ambasciata statunitense a Nairobi, Carla Benini, giunge dopo le dichiarazioni di esponenti del parlamento americano, infastiditi dal rafforzamento delle relazioni del Kenya con la Cina, come riporta Capital News. "Il Kenya rimane centrale nella nostra politica Usa-Africa. Quando facciamo qualcosa in Africa, lo facciamo prima in Kenya, e c'è una ragione per questo: è perché abbiamo interessi comuni e siamo allineati su governance, stato di diritto e democrazia", ha detto Benini, rivolgendosi al presidente William Ruto a Nairobi, alla presenza di una delegazione dello Stato della California.
