Pmf, milizia nata contro l'Isis manovrata da Teheran

ROMA, 20 APR - Le Forze di mobilitazione popolare irachene (Pmf), 'Hashed al-Shaabi' in arabo, obiettivo dell'attacco in Iraq della scorsa notte, sono una milizia sciita inquadrata nello Stato quasi 10 anni fa in funzione anti-Isis e diventata una potente forza di pressione dell'Iran sulle vicende irachene. Si stima che ne facciano parte 230.000 combattenti circa, divisi in vari comandi provinciali. Ufficialmente create nel giugno del 2014 dall'allora premier iracheno Nouri al Maliki nei giorni in cui i militanti dello Stato Islamico catturavano con facilità Mossul, le Pmf raccolgono vari gruppi militari sciiti preesistenti, tutti dediti alla lotta agli jihadisti sunniti. Raggruppa 67 ex fazioni armate, a stragrande maggioranza sciita, ma anche con qualche elemento sunnita e yazida.
