Ankara accetta la vittoria del sindaco curdo prima rimosso

ISTANBUL, 04 APR - Il Consiglio elettorale turco (Ysk) ha riconosciuto la carica di sindaco di Van, nel sud-est della Turchia, ad Abdullah Zeydan, candidato col partito filo-curdo Dem e vincitore con oltre il 55% dei consensi, dopo che, in un primo momento, aveva assegnato la carica al secondo classificato, il candidato sostenuto dal partito del presidente Recep Tayyip Erdogan, facendo valere una precedente sentenza contro Zeydan e provocando manifestazioni a Van. Lo ha annunciato il rappresentante del Dem presso il Consiglio elettorale di Ankara, come riportano vari media turchi, facendo sapere che la decisione è definitiva. Quando una sezione locale del Consiglio elettorale aveva negato la carica di sindaco al candidato del partito filocurdo, a meno di 48 ore dalla vittoria, migliaia di persone avevano manifestato a Van e si erano verificati scontri con le forze dell'ordine. Anche il maggior partito di opposizione Chp, che alle amministrative di domenica ha superato l'Akp di Erdogan, aveva contestato la decisione che negava la carica al sindaco filocurdo.
